We provide all classes of LGV training courses in Essex for driving licence categories C1, C1 + E, C and C + E. Our friendly and professional instructors have many years’ experience and knowledge of the industry and are registered with the DSA.

We deliver our LGV training on a personal one to one basis and are proud of our high pass rates, which are above the national average. Our unique one to one personal training is proven to be successful but we are also able to offer a shared time training scheme if specifically requested.

Our instructors who will teach you to drive confidently and safely to a higher standard of driving beyond that required by the test and will give you the best chance of passing first time.

Each course is normally over 5 days offering 20 hours of tuition on a personal 1:1 basis with the driving test on the fifth day at a local test centre.

Our training vehicles are always well maintained and clean and of the correct size to ensure delegates receive the correct level of training to prepare them for real driving.

The category C licence, also known as a Class II is for a Rigid vehicle. The C+E licence, also known as a Class I, is for an Articulated lorry. New drivers must qualify first on a Rigid before they can upgrade their driving skills and take the test for an Artic. We will be pleased to send you a LGV vocational pack with the relevant forms and information on how to apply for your LGV provisional licence and start your driving career.

The process of obtaining your LGV licence is as follows:

Step 1

  • Have a medical to prove you are physically fit to drive an LGV
    Form D4 of the vocational pack – Please contact your GP or we recommend www.driversmedicals.com who can provide low-cost medical examinations.

Step 2

  • Obtain your provisional licence
    Having completed forms D2 & D4 send with your licence to the DVLA in the pre paid envelope. Your licence with provisional entitlement will normally be returned within 2 weeks.

Step 3

  • Pass the theory test.
    This is carried out at local test centres and made up of two parts; Part 1 is multiple choice questions and Part 2 is hazard perception.

Step 4

  • Book your training course with us
    Once you have passed your theory we will be pleased to arrange a convenient date to start your training with us.

There are a range of books DVD's CD-ROM's and videos available to help you prepare for and pass your test. These can be purchased through www.amazon.co.uk or through the Driver Standards Agency www.dsa.gov.uk
