The majority of fleet drivers pass their test and never undertake any further training. However, over time, bad driving habits can creep in which can lead to accidents, higher fuel consumption and overall higher maintenance costs.

Our courses are ultimately designed to improve professional driving skills and help companies reduce their fleet costs. They are tailor made to suit each individual company’s operational and financial needs.

We believe successful driver training should be focused on the individual rather than deliver a set training course. We can offer a variety of courses to enhance existing driving skills including:

Driving assessments
As an employer it is vital to know how good your employee’s driving skills are. Our practical driving assessment will gauge driving ability including attitude and behaviour behind the wheel. This driver profile will give real hands on evidence of ability, highlight any shortcomings and advise if any further training is recommended.

Advanced/defensive driver training
Driver development training will improve professional driving skills.
The benefits to your drivers and your company are considerable. Apart from the most important reason of safeguarding your employee, your company will benefit from reduced fleet running costs.

Driver improvement courses
These courses will be bespoke to address individual needs.
Developing driving skills has a very important role to play, particularly when over 90% of all vehicle accidents are caused by human error. The benefits of fewer accidents will be reflected in the balance sheet.

A company should also benefit from reduced insurance premiums as insurance companies have the assurance that their risk is far less when drivers have improved their driving skills.

As a minimum requirement all of our trainers are DSA Approved Driving Instructor grade 5 or 6 and certified as a DSA Fleet Registered Trainer with a minimum of 4 years instructional experience.  They have good communication and interpersonal skills and are committed to customer service and quality training.

Work related driving is also an extremely important health & safety issue. There are 20 fatalities and 250 serious injuries every single week involving people who drive vehicles as part of their job. More information on employer’s responsibilities for driving at work can be found in the HSE’s guide “Driving at Work – Managing work-related road safety” which can be downloaded from www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg382.pdf.
